Description

CELITH is a composite material made up with a mixture of specific granite aggregates of different selected size grades, bonded with epoxy resin and hardener. This granite is formed by casting into moulds, reducing the costs, because the production and working process is much simpler. CELITH is compacted by vibration and is stabilized within a few days with controlled temperature. Casting is made in wooden moulds (for prototypes or small series) and steel moulds (for higher quantities), with the possibility to incorporate inserts, T-slots and other elements.
It is also possible to assembly elements in CELITH by bonding and working the surfaces. Its low conductivity makes it a thermally insulating material. Thanks to its high dimensional stability and the expansion coefficient close to the one of steel, CELITH is particularly suitable for manufacturing of bases for machine tools, also of big size. The damping property of CELITH allows in most cases of machine tools a better performance of the machine ensuring a high working quality: reducing mechanical resonance phenomena, improving cutting conditions and surface
finishing, expanding tool service life.
